Wall Relief #1, 2015
Installation view at Hunter College MFA Thesis Exhibition, 205 Hudson Gallery, NYC; inkjet prints on matte paper mounted on MDF, framed inkjet prints on archival paper; 10ft. x 6.6ft./305cm x 203cm
This large-scale photographic relief is based on a photograph of a granite wall, once taken in Yosemite Park, California. This wall relief is an illusion of a monumental landscape. It is made from 24 equal parts made of MDF and mounted with inkjet prints of the landscape. Within the composition are embedded framed photographs of interiors. These are studio photographs of small-scale environments reduced to their modern skeletal structure.
